This policy explains how BPH Surveyors Limited ("BPH Surveyors", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data through this website, and what choices and rights you have.

If you submit an enquiry through this website, we collect:
We do not ask for, and the enquiry form does not include, any option to subscribe to marketing. Submitting an enquiry does not sign you up to a mailing list.
Separately, this website uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep the site working correctly. See our Cookie Policy for exactly which ones, and why.
Directly from you, when you fill in and submit the enquiry form. We do not buy, source, or combine personal data about you from third parties, data brokers, or public records.
We use the information you submit to:
We do not rely on your consent as the basis for these uses. Instead, we rely on:
The acknowledgement checkbox on the enquiry form confirms that you've read this policy; it is not, and is not used as, marketing consent.
This website is built and hosted on Wix's platform. When you submit the enquiry form, your information is processed by Wix Forms and stored as a matching record in Wix Contacts, so that we can manage the enquiry from our dashboard. Wix also hosts the website itself.
Wix (operated by Wix.com Inc. and its group companies) acts as our data processor for these functions, under its own published terms and data processing agreement. As part of running the website and the enquiry form, Wix may also process limited technical information (such as your IP address) for operational and spam-prevention purposes.
We do not currently use any other third-party analytics, advertising, or marketing processor on this website.
When you submit an enquiry, a notification is sent to our project inbox at projects@bphsurveyors.co.uk, so that we can respond to you promptly.
That mailbox runs on Microsoft 365, supplied to us via GoDaddy as the reseller and administrator of our subscription. The email service itself, including the content of any enquiry email and further correspondence you send us, is operated by Microsoft, which acts as a data processor for that content under its own published terms. GoDaddy's role is limited to supplying and administering the Microsoft 365 subscription; GoDaddy does not process the content of your emails on our behalf.
Because Wix operates as a global platform, the information above may be processed or stored outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on Wix's own data processing agreement and the safeguards it has in place (including standard contractual clauses and equivalent measures) to ensure your information continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.
Similarly, correspondence sent to or from projects@bphsurveyors.co.uk may be processed or stored outside the UK as part of how Microsoft operates Microsoft 365. Microsoft's own published position is that it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers and states that it abides by the terms of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension.
If your enquiry does not go on to become a client appointment, we keep the enquiry submission and the associated contact record for 24 months after our last meaningful contact with you, and then delete or anonymise it, unless we have a justified legal reason to keep it for longer.
If your enquiry becomes a client appointment, the information forms part of the relevant client and project records. Those records may be kept for longer, for as long as required by our contractual, legal, tax, professional indemnity, and insurance obligations. Not every record is kept indefinitely; retention periods depend on the type of record and the obligation that applies to it.
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the personal data we hold, and we rely on Wix's own platform-level security for hosting, forms, and contact storage.
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at projects@bphsurveyors.co.uk.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at projects@bphsurveyors.co.uk so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if the way we use this website changes. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
