As commercial manager we took direct responsibility for the site's quantity surveyors, negotiated variations as they arose, and secured the extensions of time the delay events actually supported, including the preliminary costs that followed from them.
Over £500,000 in variations negotiated, three extensions of time secured with associated preliminary costs recovered, and the final account moved from £2.84m to £3.02m on a properly substantiated basis.
